This module explores a range of intellectual disabilities for all age groups.  It discusses the causes and effects of intellectual disabilities and develops awareness of social models of supports and the role of various professionals in responding to the needs of  persons of intellectual disability, giving the learner a comprehensive knowledge of intellectual disabilities and impacts on society.  To identify current approaches and progressive models of service to persons with intellectual disabilities.
