Introduction to Irish Art will provide students with an introduction to approach ‘reading’ Irish art over the centuries. These informal but sense-awakening online classes shall give students a brief introduction to key Irish artists and their works at various times in art history from the eighteenth to the twenty-first century.
The classes will focus on Irish art works, which are held in various collections in Ireland such as the National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin City Gallery, The Hugh Lane and the Irish Museum of Modern Art.
This is an online course but there will be an 'in-person' gallery visit to see some of the works described in the course.
